Last night, the Springfield VFW was filled with excitement, pride, and gratitude as we gathered for the annual Patriot’s Pen awards banquet. The evening celebrated the hard work and creativity of our local students, as well as the outstanding dedication of our educators.

The highlight of the night was, of course, the recognition of the Patriot’s Pen award winners. These young students demonstrated exceptional writing skills, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of what it means to be an engaged citizen. Congratulations to all of the student winners! Your hard work and thoughtfulness truly shone through in your essays, and we couldn’t be more proud of your achievements.

In addition to honoring the students, we were also delighted to recognize this year’s VFW Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Scanlan. Her dedication to fostering a love of learning and her commitment to her students make her an invaluable part of our community. Mrs. Scanlan’s passion for teaching and her unwavering support of her students is truly inspiring, and we’re proud to celebrate her this year.
